When you are having a difficult time, have you ever pretended that it was a very dear person to you having a bad time, and you were there to offer comfort or advice? I've noticed, especially when I answer questions for my insight timer course, that I generally think that the "advice" is pretty good, but I can see some ways that I don't follow it myself. I'm not saying I don't follow it at all, but I can sometimes witness a slight separation, a gap. In a way, we all know what to do most of the time, but sometimes, or often, there are blocks- Buddhism calls these hindrances. Removing the blocks, closing the gap, is becoming more awake to what is. Christianity calls this being closer to God. May you shed your hindrances. May you be closer to God.
